Women Presidents’ Educational Organization Awards Women’s Business Enterprise Certification to Wilson Global Communications

WBENC certification confirms that Wilson Global Communications LLC meets national standards for certification as a business fully owned, operated and controlled by a woman.

(WASHINGTON) – Wilson Global Communications, an international public relations and marketing communications consultancy, has been awarded national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization – DC (WPEO-DC), a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the WPEO-DC is a meticulous process, including an in-depth review of a business, including office site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.

By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs.

“This prestigious WBENC certification is both gratifying and empowering,” said Julia Wilson, Wilson Global’s CEO & founder. “While my company enjoys business partnerships with a unique list of American and global clients on mainly international projects, this certification heightens awareness of our brand nationally, and expands our footprint in the U.S., enabling us to connect with additional clients.

“WPEO’s network includes Fortune 500 and Fortune 50 companies, ensuring that qualified women-owned and operated companies in the U.S. can compete for business and vendor opportunities on a more level playing field,” Wilson continued. “It’s exciting to be part of an organization in which women are truly helping to empower other women,” she said.

Wilson, an American journalist, business entrepreneur and multi-culturist, founded Wilson Global Communications in South Africa in 1994. A Fulbright Grant recipient, she has operated her company in Washington, D. C. since 2005. Wilson Global provides cross-cultural relationship-building services between the United States and China, various African, European and Latin American countries. Wilson Global’s services include public and diplomatic relations, international education, business, media and civic exchanges, special event management, and media relations.
